El Riad Oriental Band

    The Oriental Band was organized in 1932.  The OB has grown over the years to where the membership now exceeds 50 active members.  Their colorful uniforms, along with the many different musical instruments they play, make for an attention-getting combination.  The Band regularly appears at many local and regional parades throughout the year, as well as all El Riad Shrine Ceremonials and Midwest Shrine Association Summer Sessions.  The Band has won many awards and trophies throughout the years at these various venues and competitions.  They also have appeared at a number of Shrine Imperial competitions over the years.

    Many members of the Oriental Band have taken an additional active roll within the El Riad Shrine organization and counts within its former and present members 9 Past Potentates.  The Oriental Band meets at the El Riad Shrine building on the first and third Thursdays of the month.  If you find yourself in the vicinity any of those nights, you are all welcome to visit with us and participate in our celebration of music.
